Welcome
Thank you for your interest in the Towne Singers. We will be accepting new members in January. Our rehearsals are from 7:15 to 9:30 on Mondays at the La Cañada Community Center. Come visit us and get acquainted. You might like to know a bit more about us before you make your decision. I have included a short description of the Towne Singers and a longer discussion of how we operate in the links above. I trust that these will answer your questions. If not, please call President Ken Kimball at (323) 254-8415 or email him at kkimball@jpl.nasa.gov. We do, however, encourage you to attend a rehearsal or two before making your final decision. It is hard to describe in words the fun and family-like atmosphere that surrounds our working together. I must say, though, that we do work hard. It is our goal to produce the best quality concerts we are capable of. Further, that our capabilities be expanded and challenged. We are careful, though, not to bite off more that we can chew, though it may not seem that way when we first start rehearsals. We have grown every year. Learning to work as an integrated whole is very important to choral music. Therefore, we only accept new members during the first few rehearsals in September. Depending on the period we have available for rehearsals, the Director will determine the required attendance. We do schedule sectional rehearsals, which allow a "makeup." Typically, the last three rehearsals are mandatory. Adjustments possibly can be made if advance notice is given. For me there is an additional benefit. We receive some of the best singing lessons for less than $2 an hour, and because we are a not-for-profit corporation, you may be able to save on taxes. Yours in Harmony,
